About Me

About me: Shuana Niessen, M.Ed., B.Ed., B.Re.

I currently work with the Centre for Teaching and Learning at the University of Regina as Open Education and Publishing Manager. Previously, I served with the Faculty of Education for 17 years in a variety of roles, including as Editor for the Faculty’s Education News magazine and Managing Editor for an online, open access, academic journal, in education. I am the commissioned author of Shattering the Silence: The Hidden History of Indian Residential Schools in Saskatchewan. I am a Saskatchewan-certified teacher (Secondary English language arts and business education) and have taught as a sessional instructor at the University of Regina. On a personal level, I enjoy reading, writing, photography, painting, BBC productions based on literature, and crafting. Thanks for visiting my site.
